M&M Chicago Art Institute Elopement

Jun 30, 2023

On a Friday in June Megan and Mohammed met in the City of Chicago for their second wedding…

…an elopement in front of the justice of the courts and the parents of the bride…

…A year before they had gotten married in a traditional Malian ceremony in front of the grooms parents…

…but these were just the beginning.

To know Meg is to love Meg. Even if she’s taken you to the petite arch and you’ve narrowly lived to tell the tale. Her personality is a leaf in the wind, always onto the next adventure. And EVERYTHING is an adventure.

Mohammed, or as he’s affectionately called by family, Baba, is warm. One conversation and you’ll feel like you’ve been friends forever. He’s hilarious, his cheeky puns usually result in an eruption of laughter. He knows what he wants and he knows what he does not and if he doesn’t Meg definitely does.

After their ceremony at the Art Institute of Chicago, they still had one more wedding to knock out. This Fall, on a beach surrounded by the turquoise sea, a crimson sunset, and their closest family and friends they said I Do one more time.

I don’t want to say that Meg’s greatest adventure is Mohammed, because I know they have a lot more living to do. But the way they complement each other is something to admire. Their zest for life, culture, and most of all FOOD is intoxicating. It’s no wonder they were able to get so many people to fly across the country to come see them in Cabo. No, seriously, someone came from Australia, someone else flew in from Thailand. College friends, past and present coworkers, people they met travelling, people they met surfing, people they started whole companies with, you get the picture.

I have been blessed to be a part of these moments with them and can’t wait to see where they go next. Knowing them it will be with less than a week’s notice and at least a 10-hour plane ride away.
